Dealing with a furnace emergency during the winter months can be a very scary and frustrating experience. Indeed, no matter what type of home you have or how big it may be, you will find it incredibly difficult to get comfortable in the winter months without a functioning furnace. That said, the following is a short guide on how to know if your furnace issues have reached emergency levels. Higher Bills One major sign that your furnace may be failing is that your bill is much higher than normal. A functional furnace will typically have a fairly consistent bill (in proportion to the amount of time the furnace is being used). Therefore, if your bill suddenly skyrockets, this is a major sign that you may be experiencing a furnace emergency. Loud Noises One of the telltale signs that your furnace needs to be serviced immediately is that it is making loud noises.
